I used to go to the Chutney's on Capitol Hill and sometimes the one on Queen Anne, but they were sold and I noticed a sharp decline in the quality of their food. I was reluctant to try this Chutneys until I learned that the person who originally owned the others still owns this one, and I was pleased to find when I went that the quality was what I remember. It isn't completely authentic, but it isn't as "heavy" and a lot of people don't share my "the more fat the better" attitude about food. I was most impressed with their use of spices: unlike many Indian restaurants, the spices compliment the flavors of the particular ingredients, rather than overwhelming them.
