This is generally my all-time favorite breakfast place. The food is always good (portions vary from gargantuan to just right), the fruit fresh, coffee service consistent, Bloody Mary's spicy, etc., etc.
However, weekend mornings are not good for those looking for a quiet breakfast--too many unsupervised children running around. If you go really early or after the main brunch rush (1PM), you can possibly avoid this. Here's an experience (I can't share them all) I had:
The seated couple next to us paid and left, leaving an open table. A little boy in face paint (weekend before Halloween) came and 'hid' under the table. He was there for 15 minutes and only left when another couple were seated at the table. No one came to look for him and no one appeared to be looking for him. This, to me, is unacceptable restaurant behavior, bot in children and parents. It is not my responsibility to look out for a stranger's child.
But the food is good, and I also like to go for dinner or get delivery. The southern style food is spicy and the menu contains a lot of variety--both of which are important to me.
To die for menu item: mashed sweet potatoes.
