The public schools in the Homewood area are some of the best around. Western Avenue, Parker Junior High and Homewood Flossmoor High school have great ratings and are a safe place to bring your child. I personally went to all of them and have only good memories. They keep up with the times as well. There is nothing worse than a school that doesn't have you dealing with new technology, and these ones keep you up to date.
