Ferry Commuters have this inside scoop for downtown coffee. 5/14/2006

Downtown Cups is a convenient stop for ferry commuters, but anyone who works nearby should check out this little spot for their daily joe. Cups' Caffe Vita coffee is a million times better than the swill in the terminal. Michelle, the new owner, is wonderful and friendly, as are her employees. You'll find no surly, coffee snob baristas here. If they get your drink wrong, they'll do it again until it's exactly how you want it. Not that this ever happens; their espresso is perfect, their foam flawless. The panini sandwiches are delicious, and their pastries from the Essential Baking Company and Little Rae's Bakery are largely organic, and still delicious. Check this place out! They're hard to find, and you have to resist the naughty naughty urge to dip into the Starbucks on the corner, but it's worth it. Go down Marion, past first. They're on the overpass. I promise, the extra fifty feet are worth it! And, on a side note, the barista's uniform shirts which read "What's your cup size?" are hilarious. more
