We used to visit the zoo and feel a little sorry for the animals. It actually closed down and was reopened under new owners, who have obviously put a ton of time, energy and love into redoing the animal habitats and caring for them. They are working to do even more, like a state of the art giraffe education center. The owners are always so nice to the kids and we love visiting the new exhibits and seeing how content the animals seem.
It is a nice sized place to visit with younger children because they aren't exhausted by the end of the visit. However, we have requests from the teens to still visit because they want to check on their favorite animals, who become friends over the years.
