The Maryland Historical Society is a great place to spend an afternoon or a few hours for research.There is a nominal admission fee, but it can often be waived or reduced for students doing research. The reading room is absolutely beautiful, and staff is very helpful and friendly. The displays and exhibits are also under-appreciated but very worthwhile. I wish the MHS would advertise a little more; it's a great place to learn a little more about the state.
