Pub 181 is actually on 184th. How confusing is that? I think it well reflects the mixed atmosphere and smokey chintz of the place itself.
For people watchers, this is the place to be to observe people who wish they were somebodies. It's a place where grownups can play pretend, be important to the pickup of the moment...men can remove their wedding rings and women can strut around pretending that they're not going grey and wrinkly under all that clarol and covergirl. It is most amusing.
On the other hand, the beer choices are good and the service fast. Food is OK...and some of the bands on the weekends are GREAT.
