We chose Dr. Markman as our pediatrician after a prenatal interview. She seemed to be okay with our choices and was very friendly. However, our first visit with our week old baby met us with an hour and a half wait in the waiting room even though we had an appointment! I ended up waiting outside of the office so that my daughter would not be in contact with the sick kids that were waiting. After being taken to an exam room by the nurse, I had to wait with my daughter for another twenty minutes before the Dr. came in. Our second visit also met us with a long wait in the waiting room and then again in the exam room. On top of my problems with wait times, there were two times that I was extremely upset when on the phone with Dr. Markman to ask a question. Both times were calls that she had returned after I left a message. So, I would expect that she would take the time to pull my daughter's chart and glance at it before calling me back. However, during both calls she asked what kind of formula my daughter was on despited the fact that my daughter was exclusively breastfed. Not only had I talked to Dr. Markman about that, but it was written in my daughter's charts. After being reminded that she was breastfed, she mentioned that the dairy in my diet might have been causing our problems. Once again, a quick look at the chart would have told her that we did not consume any dairy products and that we had already dismissed that as a possible problem in an earlier appointment. I found a new pediatrician for my daughter when she was six months old.
