New York Music is simply unsatisfactory. As taking lessons there as a child, I had nothing but problems. They offer private lessons for any instrument you could possibly imagine, but would rather spend the half hour per week you pay $15 for talking or standing outside smoking. I found this a bit ridiculous. When taking my instrument in for repairs, it would often take those weeks. It also wasn't uncommon to get my instrument back unfixed. I don't know what people pay them for. Im sure that this has been an ongoing problem with them, and even friends of mine have stopped learning there.
