If you show up thinking you are going to a garden you might be disappointed. This is an arboretum which means it is a collection of trees. Because trees get large they are spread out over acres of ground. They do have paved trails and good maps and even free tours. Go to the website or call to find out when tours and events are planned. There are special times to go such as when all the Magnolia trees are in bloom, and they do have them in a certain area. Go first to the gift shop for a map of the grounds. Try not to do it all in one day if you are not too athletic. Wear good walking shoes and bring a bottle of water and a camera and you will enjoy yourself immensely.
