I don't know about you, but I have had my share of bad experiences with banks. Of course most of this has to do with bad attitudes by customer service people.
Charter One has been a good experience from the start. Of course, if you overdraw your account they still charge you, but I have had a great experience with their people.
Their accounting is consistently accurate too, which is a basic requirement of course.
And they have nice perks too. In addition to a huge network of branches, they give you a lot of stuff. When I reopened my free checking account with them, they gave me two really nice lawn chairs.
They also have a policy of keeping a big bowl of Hershey kisses on their counter. I take handsful for my grandkids:)
I only wish they would open up some branches closer to me now, like in Gurnee or Waukegan!
