My partner and I tried to join Bailey's when we first moved to Jacksonville since they were so close to our house and seemed to have a good selection of equipment. However, we were told that the gym does not welcome gay couples and we would be able to join only as separate individuals, not a family. Their corporate policy dictates that gay people are not fully human and do not deserve basic courtesy or fair treatment.
Needless to say, we took our business elsewhere. To Gold's Gym on Baymeadows, where we were treated with respect and immediately welcomed by the enthusiastic and highly educated staff.
