Paperbacks Plus

Paperbacks Plus is located in a small, suburban town in the Bronx called Riverdale. This bookstore has books from pre-k to pre-med. They sell Regents review books which is great since their are at least two high schools within Riverdale (public and private) and they also sell intense novels for the serious reader. They hold books for you before they even come out, such as the "Harry Potter" or "A series of Unfortunate Events" (my favorite series books) before they come out and contact you via email or phone to tell you when you can pick it up. This book store even gift wraps anything you buy from them, free of charge. The workers are very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable of the books they sell. Paperbacks Plus does not only sell books though. It sells face painting kits, jigsaw puzzles, mini games, and other toys that help kids in math and science. They also sell holiday and birthday cards, as well as gift certificates. Paperbacks Plus is basically a mini Barnes and Noble store. In terms of money, the prices are so-so. You could probably find the books for a cheaper price on amazon.com but the books are not over priced or expensive at PaperBacks Plus. Paperbacks Plus does not have chairs to sit on and read, but it is a very nice store which has been around for decades. more
