For about a year and a half, I was addicted to opiates. I lost my job and even lived on the streets for a few days before begging my parents to take me in. They would only agree if I got help. They called A Better Tomorrow and I went reluctantly. I never knew the help that I needed. It was a relaxed setting. The doctors really understood where I was coming from and they told me about past patients and their struggles. I learn ways to fight the urge to go back to using. I am a compulsive gum chewer now but my parents have no problem with that. I have a new job. Not much but it’s a start. I can’t wait to get my life back in order.
