VERY VERY long wait times, then you won't mind going to Kenmore Mercy Emergency Room. Kenmore Mercy is part of the Catholic Health System of WNY. I have had to take my children to Kenmore Mercy on a number of different occasions over the past 15 years. I have had to use the ER three times for myself and neither time was a pleasant experience. The first time I had sever epitaxis (nosebleed), and it took them 45 minutes to get me into the back to be seen, and another 3 hours for a Physicians Assistant to see me. Not a doctor, a PA! The second time I had an anaphalatic (severe allergic) reaction to something I had eaten. It took them over an hour to get me into the back, and it took them another hour for someone to see me, another 2 hours for tests to be run, and then FINALLY get me on an IV of andreline & steroids. That was the most unpleasant experience. I have small veins and the nurse would NOT listen to me when I told her to use the large vein in my foot. She poked me 5 times in 5 different places, until I was completely in tears and starting to bruise. Finally, another nurse came in and put the IV in my foot. Third time, and LAST time we used Kenmore Mercy ER, I broke my ankle. Took them over 3 hours to get xrays, read them and give me an Ibuprofen for pain. THEN, I had to go to an orthopedic surgeon's office to get casted. They did NOT have casting capabilities on premise, like the other hospitals in the area. No more Catholic Health System for us! We've used other hospitals in the same system with the same negative results. more
