I tend to shop at several furniture stores because I'm not a Living Room for $799 type of person, if you know what I mean. I don't want my sofa, chair, and loveseat to match. I don't even like loveseats! Anyway, so I tend to stay away from Bernie and Phyl's since they sell a lot of matchy match country styles. However, after falling in love with a table from Pottery Barn and being unable to purchase it for under $2000 - I figured I'd go check out the selection in local stores. I went to all of them on DW Highway and then, last resort, Bernie and Phyl's. First of all, I hate the aggressive sales staff in this store. They make me want to leave upon entering. I had one man follow me through ALL 3 levels of this store. I asked him to leave several times, but he kept "popping up" no matter what level I went to. Hated this. However, I badly needed a dining room set and I saw one I liked. A few days later, I returned with my husband and the sales staff treated me different. Could be because I had my husband who isn't an easy sell. Maybe they target shoppers that are alone, don't know. With my husband, they just asked once if we needed help and quickly left us alone. We found the perfect set and ordered it right on the spot. It arrived as scheduled and the men who delivered it were very nice. A few months later, I had some problems with fitting the extension in so I had to call the store. Customer service was excellent and they had a guy at my house, free of charge, to fix it within a week. I will shop B&P's again if I ever need another dining room set. The quality is great and everyone thinks I got it from Pottery Barn! :)
