This "Membership Only" club offers some wonderful benefits. It is geared towards the higher end clientelle, boasting doctors, lawyers, political figures and judges as their members.
The food is spectacular and they generally have good service if you attend an event here.
I personally don't care for the atmosphere because it was once a 'men's only club' and was only fairly recently challenged by a local woman judge who won her case to allow women memberships. How many women belong to the club is a well kept secret but I know it's not too high. It was created to be a 'good ol' boys' style hangout for the rich and will always remain so. As a matter of fact, the last time I was there they had a traditional German sign hanging over the bar that stated women will not be served. Of course they get away with it because they say it's 'decoration' and they will serve women now... but I personally wouldn't bother asking to be served by anyone that based their origins on that style and kept them well into the 20th Century.
