This is truly a gift to the Erie area who, face it, doesn't get a whole ton of nice sunshiney weather! What I loved was that I didn't have to feel like I was missing out on the fun because I didn't feel like swimming. I purchased a nice drink and nestled in with a book on the top floor to watch the fun and frolicking below. The kids could come up and see me when they wanted and we could take a time out for lunch and go back to playing. It was truly a relaxing day for me.
I'm not really sure there is an 'off season' for this place as it can be packed winter, spring, summer or fall. When there are big crowds of soccer families in the area you may as well avoid the place because it's just too crowded but on a normal weekend or even a weekday if you can get a day off from the grind it really is a pleasant place to spend the entire day. Don't go if you can't spend the entire day because at the cost per person you will want to stay and get your money's worth.
I was a bit taken aback with prices for food and such and nothing can be brought in. Parties can be had but at a substantial cost. I found that purchasing their package deals, which include a room, were really the best deal as it is all inclusive.
It is definitely a great time and place for fun and something that Erie should really cherish not only as a tourist attraction but as something to keep our own local families entertained during the long winter months or not so hot summers we can have!
