Dinner Texas Style 12/27/2006

Last night, Texas Roadhouse was having a fundraiser to benefit US Soldiers. I hadn't realized it until my husband called to tell me about it but we hopped in the car and headed over there for dinner to support it. I've been a fan of the restuarant and have been known to go back the very next night after getting a taste of their smothered chicken. It's so delicious it's hard not to go back the next night too! Unfortunately, they've taken that item off the menu. I'm hoping they bring it back. The BBQ chicken I had was good but it just didn't compare. The service, was out of this world. The server was attentive and quick and brought drink refills out and cleared the table as necessary. We started our meal with an appetiser, a Texas Blooming Onion, to be exact. Salads and chili followed for others at our table. Now, you've been to dinner before where you got your salad and before you've put a fork in it, out came your dinner. This was not the case at Texas Roadhouse! Everything was perfectly timed and piping hot when it got to our table. Now, we didn't do desert because there just wasn't much room left for it by the time we've finished off our meals and the hot bread that's served just as you sit down but I felt like I'd had desert after enjoying their loaded sweet potato, topped with brown sugar and warm toasted marshmellows. Even my kids were begging me for, "just one more bite, please!" Price range for four (2 adults and 2 children) was a little over $40 but skip the appetiser and it would bring it down a bit. All in all, it was a great meal and I'd recommend it highly to all. more
