After raising my children, I found myself one day toying with the idea of going back to work. As an RN, there was a time to refresh knowledge and now I am back into the workforce. I could have worked anywhere due to the shortage. I chose Hospice because of caring for 2 aging parents while raising my children. It seemed to be the perfect fit.
I live in a semi-rural county that already has a Hospice, but HP Hospice has expanded into my county and has so much to offer. The training and professionalism they offer makes them one of the top Hospice's in the country. Their website is user-friendly http://www.hphospice.org/ This is how I make a difference to someone, even though they begin as strangers. When you touch a person who is very ill and has less than 6 months to live, you can quickly get an attachment. We have to take care of each other as well as the patients. Making a difference in someone's life can take a lot out of you also. Be good to yourself as well as others.
