Florida Power, now known as Progress Energy, is most of the county's electrical power company. We visited the plant, which is ultra secure then in 1999 as well as now, after September 11 and found a great tour. There is an atomic energy museum which is quite small but is good for our homeschool study group. There are many concerns regarding power companies, but we were convinced that those concerns were alleviated by precautions this company takes on a daily basis.
Once you get past the security check point, there is adequate parking and ADA compliant ramps.
