This small ice cream shop between the major shopping centers of Key Largo and condo-land is a gem of a find. He makes his own on the premises from his own recipes, 20 years in the making.
You won't exactly get a smooth sales pitch, but this ice cream and sorbet sell themselves. Try a malt, it's a little slice of long ago childhood heaven. It's in a small Plaza on the east side of the southbound US1, heading towards Key West. He has one of those flashing white lights out at night, so look for that. This ice cream is so good, it even overcomes the lack of an enticing place to consume it!
