We just moved here from Maryland, and we were a little nervous about 'southern BBQ' because we heard it can be pretty spicy. We noticed in the Charleston City paper, however, that Melvin's was ranked #1 BBQ by locals, and that Melvin's also had what Emeril ranked as the #1 cheeseburger in America so we just had to try it. We LOVED IT! The mustard based BBQ isn't spicy at all, and it is amazing. I don't even like mustard, and I loved it. The prices are pretty reasonable too. We have tried the Big Joe, Little Joe, Cheeseburger, fries, and onion rings, and we loved everything. We have never been disappointed with the service or the food. Highly recommend!
