JKA Boston (jkaboston.com) in Coolidge Corner is a good karate dojo in the area. They take kids 6 and older, and there are quite a number of them. A number of families from our school go there.
My son and wife both took classes there and liked it. I was only there once so I can't give it 5 stars as I don't really have first-hand experience.
