This is a nice little coffeeshop in the BiLo area on 411 in Maryville. You can find some of the best coffee creations here with names like: The Scarlet Letter, the Dubliner, and the Black and White Truffle. Many of the specialty coffees are named after well-known literary pieces and there is always a terrific special on the board.
At the Bard you can play board games with your friends, listen to the live music on the weekends or sit in a corner and read. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxed and the regulars are funny to listen to.
Paul Muscat, the guy that runs the place, is from Malta. Ask him about his home country sometime. He has a charming accent and is fun to listen and talk to.
The prices are decent, the pastries are varied and the coffee is great.
