Nearly 18 weeks into my second pregnancy, my husband and I were scheduled for our first ultrasound with our local rural hospital. WOW...were having twins!!!!!!!! We were not comfortable delivering in a hospital without a nicu, so decided @ 23 weeks to transfer to Fort Wayne and deliver at Lutheran Hospital. A family member whom had a high risk pregnancy highly recommended Dr. Wheeler, a high-risk doctor, which we now would be more comfortable with considering our circumstances. From the first meeting we got along great. He is very laid back. We were able to have an ultrasound each visit, and reassured that everything was going wonderful. At 32 weeks I started to dilate, and was given a steroid shot, just in case the babies were born early, but he was very calm and reassuring. My babies were born at 36 weeks and after a short stay in the nicu were able to come home with me when I left the hospital. more
