These days, I feel movie ticket are just too expensive to indulge in unless I really want to see a particular movie. This is one place I don't feel that - a non-profit theater where they are trying to rebuild a historic theater in the back. (Plus tickets don't go above $8). They play excellent, harder to find films. So good have all the films been I feel that if I go to the Ambler Theater for a film - even if I haven't heard of it ahead of time, it's going to be a good one. The theater is very cute and if you find a nice staff member, ask them to show you the back theater that they are renovating - it's really quite amazing to see such an ancient (and once grand) theater that they are trying to restore.
They also have matinees, film discussion groups, filmmaker appearances and more... check the website for more details on that!
