Food Lion is the closest grocery store to my home, so out of necessity I find myself there a lot. For the most part, it's a good store. They run great promotions - on some items. The store is nicely laid out, the check out lines run pretty smoothly (this would be better if people would stop writing personal checks to pay for groceries, but I digress!).
My biggest complaint about the store is that the items they gauge you on, they really gauge you. $8.99 / lb. of boneless chicken breast, $4 for a pound of seedless grapes, and $3.99 for a yellow or red pepper. I avoid meat & produce here at all costs, but it is cost effective for "grocery" items.
