When I moved to Three Rivers from Vicksburg in 1988, I had a very poor view of Three Rivers and its school system. When it was time for our oldest son to start school, in 1997, we decided to look into the School of Choice program. We believed the rumors about Three Rivers being an inferior school, so we decided to send him to Mendon. I will leave my opinion of the Mendon school system for a different review, but when my son was going into 2nd grade, we decided to switch him to Three Rivers. It was the BEST decision we could have made. Our son blossomed in the Three Rivers school system. He was placed in a program for gifted children, and challenged and encouraged to learn all he could. He made wonderful friends, and now, in 8th grade, he hates to miss school. For anyone who still believes that Three Rivers is somehow an inferior school system, I would encourage them to look into it for themselves. We couldn't be happier with the education our children are receiving.
