If you don't have laundry in your home/apartment, like most of us East Bay renters, then Woody's is your savior. Woody's is located on Park Blvd. (across from the Parkway Theater) and has a variety of top-of-the-line front loading laundry machines in various load capacities and the nicest dryers in town. Although the prices have recently increased slightly, these are still the cheapest machines I've found in Oakland and there are so many of them that you'll never have to wait to do your laundry. The nicest thing about Woody's is that it is clean. Unlike many of the lesser laundromats in Oakland, there's always an attendant present who's cleaning the machines (with a toothbrush - no joke) and the floors and emptying the trash. There are several TV's showing sporting events and primetime television shows and there's a kids area with a TV and a selection of children' movies. Bottom line - even if this is a drive for you, it will still be the most convenient and affordable place to do you laundry!
