Toshi's place boasts handmade ramen noodles which means the soup you'll get is absolutely not the same thing as the pre-packaged stuff you'd get from the grocery.
Like many Japanese noodle places, the menu is posted up front and includes photos of of what things look like. There are so many variations on the ramen theme --my personal recommendation is miso ramen with extra bean sprouts, green beans and corn. They'll float a piece of pork on the top, which you can ask to have left off if you prefer.
Beyond the miso ramen noodles, Toshi's also serves gyoza (pot stickers), soups with soy and salt bases, cold noodle salad, and teriyaki with rice dishes. There are vegetarian options, and take-out is available. The servings seem huge, but the soup is so tasty you may slurp it all up before you realize it's gone. East noodles for lunch and be very full for under $7.
Toshi's Ramen House once was the location of a gas station. The building now adds vibrant face to the block. The interior space is crowded and not very catchy. And it's usually packed with lot's of students. Sometimes there is outside seating, but a bowl of steaming ramen is a perfect food for a rainy afternoon in Eugene. So make yourself a seat inside and don't mind the crowd! Service is generally quick, and the staff always seems to be in a good mood.
They are open Monday through Saturday at 11am - 3pm for lunch and 5pm - 9pm for dinner. Also have one Saturday a month when the place is closed, and are closed every Sunday. Located at 1520 Pearl.
