You have to go to Las Paletas. There's no way to convince someone that a popsicle can be anything special; you have to taste one of these to believe it. I had a caramel one the first time and was amazed; it was creamy and had a real depth of flavor. Since that first one, I've tried lots of others and never been disappointed. The flavors change daily, depending on what's fresh in the market. I've seen them offer cucumber-chili, tamarind, rice, chocolate banana, guava.
The location is hard to spot; there's no sign, which I suppose makes customers feel like they're in on a secret. With no sign and a $2 price tag, the owners must just do it for the love of the popsicle.
