Shoprite stores tend to offer the best prices and are even better if you have coupons because they double them. There are several nicer Shoprites in the area than the one on Passaic Ave in Kearny. The store is older and not always that clean. Also the carts cannot be taken out of the store so you either have to carry your groceries or drive up for them. I thought I would take advantage of the fact that they were open 24 hours. BAD CHOICE!!! I stopped in at about 5:30 am and it was very creepy! Apparently from midnight to 6am they turn off half of the overhead lighting. The place was big, empty, dark, and creepy.
