The Gilded Otter is one of the recent additions to the New Paltz bar scene, and it's definitely a good one. Towards the end of Main Street, next to the bridge and on your way to the mountains, the Gilded Otter has a great bar, and beer selection. You can order a sampling of 8 beers (helps to have all of the info), and they've got a private room upstairs. The food is ok, a little higher priced than most of what you'll find in the area, but it's a great place to go for a drink.
