Let me get a few things out of the way first:
1) These people work on a commission, as do most tour agents.
2) They are pretty upfront about point #1, but not in a pushy or rude way.
3) The website is not the best, but does give lots of good information.
4) If you pick a tour they think is a stinker, they will give you alternatives or their opinion, to help you out.
5) If you are on a budget and want help, this is the way to go.
My husband and I picked this tourist activity seller at random, after viewing several websites. We picked up the phone and contacted a man named "Andre", who while busy when I called, gave me a quick callback as soon as he was free. Being on a budget, we had decided to do one activity, and let me tell you, EVERYTHING to do in Maui either has a pricetag or just costs out the nose (even getting a lei when you get off the plane has a fee).
Andre was very helpful in helping us set up our Sunset Cocktail Cruise through Teralani cruise tours. He laid out the prices for the two tickets, explained to us where the cruise took off from, and even made suggestions to spend most of the day in the city of Ka'anapaali, because traffic can get to be bumper-to-bumper around 4pm, and check-in for the cruise is at 4:30.
I took about two days to call Andre back, and during this time, he never flooded my voicemail with "Are you gonna take this offer?" calls or anything. When I called back, he remained professional, processed the order, and promptly sent the receipt and the boarding passes.
Overall, this was the least stressful activity, because it was paid for and because the agent was very helpful. If you want a place to begin looking for activities, stop in the store in Lahaina or call em. Either way you will be happy.
