Buy an annual pass. You will use it, I swear. I have walked this trail countless times. It is always clean and well maintained. If I had a single complaint it would be that there are some pretty long unshaded stretches. You will see a lot of wildlife here. I had a close encounter with a fawn once and I don't know who was more startled! The bathroom facilities are maintained as well as any park, which means try to remember your own tissue! There are special events here all the time, the annual 4th of July fireworks are very good and it is a great place for a family picnic. Oh yeah, they have a beach, golf course and nature center, so there really is something for the whole family!
