I have to admit, I live in the Mounds Park neighborhood, so I am a little biased. I think this is probably the second best park in St. Paul after Como. It doesn't have a lake, but it has great walking paths, native flower plantings, tennis courts, a pavilion, picnic grounds with tables and fire rings, and much more. It has a much more wild feeling than Como or Phalen and has the best views of downtown from the overlook. It is a must for that alone. I'll let others talk about the mountain bike trails, fireworks viewing and whatever they might like best about it. The only danger is the 200 foot cliff at the edge of the bluff. Stay back!
