The main feature of this spa is their “enzyme bath.” I didn’t know what it was either, but it came so highly recommended that I tried it. One word: incredible. First, you’re led into a small room to wait and relax, which overlooks a beautiful Japanese garden. Your attendant arrives, explains the process to you, then leads you to your treatment room, which is basically a deep tub filled with what looks like hot, wet, wood shavings. The attendant guides you into the tub, covers you in the shavings up to your neck, then remains on hand for the 30 minutes or so, providing sips of cool water, and applying cold wet compresses to your forehead. It feels absolutely incredible, and my skin has never been so soft than it was after the treatment. Make sure to walk around the Japanese garden afterward – it’s simply beautiful, and so relaxing.
