The Art Institute is located right on Michigan Avenue, near Grant Park. It is a great place to spend a lunch hour, or to visit after work or on the weekends. There are so many wonderful works of art in the museum, it's hard to know where to start....but I think my two favorites are by American artists - American Gothic by Grant Wood and Nighthawks by Edward Hopper. But the Monets are beautiful as well, as is the Sunday in the Park by Seurat. But there is so much more there you just have to see it for yourself. And right now the Art Institute has a Toulouse Lautrec exhibit, but you need to purchase tickets for it. There is also a really nice gift shop, which has note cards, posters, etc. of many of the works of art that are in the museum.
