After calling contractors to get quotes on laying on concrete patio, I was pleasantly surprised to speak to the folks at Hawkeye. They were not the cheapest but before I could even mention it, they explained that they had competitors that were cheaper and told me what they did to ensure that they did quality work and the extra work/steps it took. They do not just lay rebar, but they also use sand and gravel and over 4" thickness of concrete in addition to leveling the area. Many other contractors I spoke to only used rebar. My neighbor has a patio from them and it looks much nicer than a lot of other patios that I have seen. Worth saving for the quality.
