This is one of my very favorite restaurants in Sonoma, and I've been a local for about 14 years.
Maya is located in one of the old, historic stone buildings on the Sonoma Plaza, at the southeast corner of the square. The restaurant is beautifully rustic inside, with very high ceilings and great, colorful, Mayan decor.
It is hard to find something on the menu that isn't great. Everything is fresh and handmade. There is a full bar, and each night they make a fresh Agua Fresca, with which they make their dacquiris and margaritas.
