Andrew's 228 is right beside Andrew's (the more casual of the two sister restaurants), down the stairs. It is cozy and has a modern feel. Not dark or basementlike at all, it is a very romantic place for a date or a fun, trendy place to have dinner with friends. The food is excellent. The steak, served atop homemade mashed potatoes with roasted garlic cloves, is some of the best steak I have ever had. The appetizers are great, the wine is superb, and the service is excellent. The music is quiet and the place is a great place for conversation. Amazingly, the price is right. They offer some dinner specials that are hard to beat and are rare for this caliber of restaurant. You will not be disappointed. The only complaint is the parking...downtown Tallahassee is not known for good parking...but that is hardly the fault of the restaurant!
