There is not enough space to devote to how impressive Mid-America Motorworks is. Started by Mike Yager in the early 70's from the back of his car, this operation has grown into a multi-million dollar company. Mid-America's catalog sales for parts for Corvettes, Volkswagons and Porshes are only a small part of what Mr. Yager does. There is an on-site museum that while small, is very impressive and worth the trip to Effingham. He hosts several specialty car shows each year (last year's Corvette Funfest had over 10,000 Corvettes). Mr. Yager's story is legendary in Effingham, and his events provide a wonderful source for bringing people into town.
