Brevard zoo is a great place for the family to visit on a nice day. They have plenty of different animals and they also have special nights for members. My favorite exhibit there are the spider monkeys. The only thing I do not enjoy is the heat but that is the nature of Florida's weather. When it is hot out though a lot of the bigger animals are hiding in the shade and are not viewable most times. If you get a chance to go try going in cooler weather and you will probably see more of the bigger animals.
