Athenians are fiercely loyal to WUXTRY downtown. And though I understand and respect the store’s history and fierce independence, I still avoid it like the plague.
Having dropped in periodically over a period of ten years, I was amazed at what incredible jerks always seemed to be half-asleep behind the counter, acting like you wrecked their high if you dared to ask a question (you probably did).
I remember one guy toward the end of my time at UGA who was actually friendly and helpful, and thought it was a miracle.
