Yes, it's true: I drive a Daewoo. Don't laugh. It's just as nice as your Camry -- if not nicer, since it's fully loaded with leather seats, sun-roof, power everything, etc -- and cost at least a third less. Anyhow, Daewoo went out of business a couple years ago and now my car is an "orphan import." What's a concerned adoptive parent (read driver) to do...? In my case, I turned to Kenny's Strictly Foreign Auto Repair here on the Island. I's previously tried McRee Ford in Dickinson, the dealer which previously sold Daewoos locally. I'd had a problem with the check-engine light staying on. McRee "fixed" it, then a couple weeks later it came back on again. When we complained, they treated us rudely on the phone. We won't go back. But I digress... Kenny's fixed the problem with no worries, no hassle, no drama. I have no idea where they went to find Daewoo parts -- Korea? Mars? -- but somehow they got them. The car runs great, and I'm more than happy. Except, if only there were some way to get (bankrupt) Daewoo Motor to reimburse my factory warranty repair claims. But I digress... Bottom Line: Kenny's solved my problems with my unusual foreign car, and I'm on the road again. more
