Bagel King has been around forever - and in my eyes (outside of NY) they are the gold standard for bagels. crunchy bubbles on the outside, chewy yet not gummy on the inside - delicious. The lines can be long, the counter help can be surly but it is worthwhile. These bagels are different than what you get elsewhere because they still do them the old fashioned way, they are not as large either. I think that is a good thing. My favorite a toasted onion bagel w/ butter & cream cheese. Eat at the counter or take away. Closed by 3pm.
