There is a problem with being in your 20s on Staten Island...to do anything with people your age, it feels like you ALWAYS have to trek into the city. The only bars on Staten Island were the forest avenue jock frat bars, or the cargo cafe, which is nice, but more of a restaurant than a hangout. Well, for a rock-indie-hipster crowd, go to MARTINI RED. The pbr's are cheap at 2$ a can, there are couches, there are comfy corners, and there is always music. Go every first tuesday of the month to see local Ingrid Michaelson sing (http://www.ingridmichaelson.com/) and go to check out hometown punk/80s/britpop DJ Paul Bruno.
