Do you work in a cubicle but watch Sponge bob squarepants on your days off? Then Toy Joy is a store for you. Really , this is a store for anyone who isn't completely humorless. They have a wide range of products including educational toys from europe, zany games, kitchy decor items, penny (not really) toys, fashion accessories, stationary, candy, puzzles, and furnishes...and that's just to start!!! When I was a freshman in college I bought this weird bubble bear from Germany... he freaked my friends out-- while 5.95 might seem pricey for bubbles, this bear provided 4 years of continous enjoyment. i wonder what happened to him....
Last time i was their i bought a hair clippy in the shape of a fairy, i teeny tiny (but very detailed) plastic baby and a fuzzy poodle. This place is typical austin-- bohemian, overwhelming, and completely wonderful.
