Shelter Inc's Thrift Shop has some amazing good stuff. It's open to the public. It is stocked with things people didn't want and other donated items that have been collected over time. As they say, one man's junk is another man's treasure.
I went in there a while back looking for that magical baseball card that would be worth thousands of dollars or just something that I could use for college. I got some decent looking furniture at an unbelievably low price that me. My roommate cashed in on some household items that were useful during our stay together.
It's run by Shelter Inc. which is a very trustworthy charity that sponsors foster children and takes care of them while they find suitable parents.
It's a very worthwhile visit if you want to get something and not spend a ton. It's also a good cause if you want to donate some of that old junk that's sitting in your attic.
